ONE. All members are expected to read through this list of rules, so they have a better understanding of how we will operate on Knights of Amorrosa. By reading them and creating an account you are agreeing to all of these rules, which can be edited by staff at any time.
TWO. Reservations last for a period of five days for both canon characters and faces. Should you need a little extra time to get the application done, please contact a member of staff as soon as possible. Applications are asked to be completed within five days of posting them unless the staff are notified otherwise, so try to use your time wisely.
THREE. Knights of Amorrosa is a literate, PG-13 rated site in accordance to Proboards Terms of Service, with a word count of 200. All posts are asked to be done in third person, past tense and will use modern language styles. This means that instead of trying to fit in "thee, thine, thy" and all of the fancy, romantic language structure that was once used, you can use more modern patterns of speech. However, please keep in mind that content should still be reflective of the time, so people weren't cursing in every other sentence or using harsh language at every opportunity.
FOUR. For those who have already consulted our canon list, you will notice a number of faces who have not been connected to any "period appropriate" material. This is because it can sometimes be difficult to find a celebrity face that you like within those works. So we have expanded the site a little to ensure that a number of faces can be used for the sake of variety. However, this does mean that scene kids will not fit in well with the layout of the site and so we ask that they not be used. This will also apply to Myspace and Youtube celebrities who won't have a large selection of pictures to choose from. If you have any questions about a face, feel free to ask.
FIVE. There is no set limit to the number of characters that you are allowed as long as you keep them all active. We'd also love to see a combination of men and women played, as well as the various stations in life, since not everyone is able to be a member of the royal family. However, we will ask that if you choose to look at the canon list that you take no more than three of them. With any luck the list will be able to expand as time goes on, and it's no fun when the entire list is being played by the same six or seven people.
SIX. God-modding and power-playing are your worst enemies on this site. If you don't know what those are then I highly suggest that you Google both terms and study them carefully. It's not cool when you take control of other people's characters and say that things have happened without the consent of the roleplayer. This also applied to any character that is an NPC on the forum. You cannot dodge every blow of a sword, but nor should you be close to death all the time and miraculously survive your wounds. Remember that this is not a time of sterile hospitals and operating rooms.
SEVEN. For your graphic needs, there is a board under the "Member Lounge" where you can either request a graphics set or offer your assistance to those who have a hard time in making them. Icons should be 150x150 and signatures no bigger than 500x300. Try to keep them as free of cultural references as possible, meaning no guitars, logo covered t-shirts or anything else more modern in feeling.
EIGHT. Though this time period was not overly kind to anyone who wasn't heterosexual, there will be absolutely no discrimination shown out of character for those that do. This is meant to be a safe and fun environment for everyone to participate in, and while disapproval for that lifestyle might be shown as a character choice it should never be so in the cbox or anywhere else on the site. There is a zero tolerance policy for this kind of behaviour, and anyone found to be displaying it will be removed from the site immediately and banned.
NINE. And finally, we'd like for you all to have an enjoyable experience here. We will not be a perfect site, and we hope to find ways in which to grow and improve as time rolls on. Input from members is always appreciated, so if you ever feel like you can contribute something, or if you need to contact staff because of an issue that has made you feel uncomfortable at all, please make sure that you message us right away. You will probably also want to know that the password for your application is the word camelot, which you can put in the appropriate place when you are ready for your application to be reviewed. Thank you again for joining Knights of Amorrosa and we hope to hear from you soon.
